How does GummyClock work?

GummyClock estimates how a THC edible will affect you over time, based on your body and your dose. It uses a pharmacokinetic model — the same kind of model researchers use to study how substances are absorbed, peak, and clear from the body — calibrated to oral THC absorption and individual metabolism.

You enter four things: your weight, your height, your age, and how many milligrams you took. GummyClock returns when you're likely to peak, roughly how intense the peak will be, and approximately when you'll be back to baseline.

For the full methodology — including the underlying ka and ke constants, the BMI-adjusted Cmax calculation, and the Deurenberg body fat estimation — see How It Works.

Is my data private?

Yes. The free calculator collects nothing. Your weight, height, age, and dose are processed only to run your calculation — we don't log them, store them, or share them. No accounts. No tracking pixels. No analytics.

If you upgrade to GummyClock Pro, we store the email address you signed up with (so we can send peak alerts), your saved profile (so you don't have to re-enter your numbers each visit), and your session history (only if you choose to log sessions). Pro data is encrypted at rest and visible only to you.

For the full breakdown, see our Privacy Policy.

I paid but something went wrong

A few things this could mean. Try them in this order:

If you just paid and Pro features aren't appearing yet — wait 30 seconds and refresh the page. Stripe webhooks usually deliver instantly, but occasionally there's a brief delay while your account is upgraded.

If you can't log into your account — try the password reset flow first. The most common cause is an email mismatch: Stripe checkout sometimes captures a different email than the one the account was created with. If that's what happened, email gummyclockhq@gmail.com with both email addresses and we'll merge the accounts manually.

If something else is wrong — email gummyclockhq@gmail.com from the email address on your purchase, and include your purchase date and a brief description of the issue. We read every message and will reply within 1–2 business days.

Refund requests are reviewed case-by-case. Email gummyclockhq@gmail.com from the purchase address, include your purchase date, and tell us briefly what didn't work for you.

Can I use this for kratom, alcohol, or other substances?

No. GummyClock is calibrated specifically for oral THC edibles. Other substances have entirely different absorption profiles, half-lives, and metabolic pathways — kratom, alcohol, psilocybin, prescription medications, and even other cannabis intake methods like inhalation all behave differently in the body. Using GummyClock to predict the timing of any non-THC substance will give you wrong answers.

If you want a similar tool for another substance, please don't try to repurpose this one — find one designed for that substance, or talk to a healthcare provider.

Why aren't my SMS texts arriving?

GummyClock peak alerts can be delivered two ways, and they have very different reliability profiles.

SMS texts are sent through your carrier's email-to-SMS gateway. This is a best-effort path: it works most of the time for most carriers in the United States, but delivery is not guaranteed and can be delayed by a few minutes. Common reasons for non-delivery include:

SMS via carrier gateways works for most users on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. If alerts are getting dropped, install GummyClock to your home screen and enable push notifications — see Can I add GummyClock to my home screen? below. Push delivery is independent of your carrier and tends to be more reliable. If problems persist, email gummyclockhq@gmail.com and let us know what you're using.

What carriers does the SMS feature support?

GummyClock supports the major United States mobile carriers via their email-to-SMS gateways: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, Cricket, US Cellular, and several MVNOs that use these carriers' networks. If your carrier isn't listed in the GummyClock Pro settings, your provider may not offer a public email-to-SMS gateway.

Important: SMS delivery via gateway is best-effort. For guaranteed delivery, use the browser push notification instead — see the next question.

Can I add GummyClock to my home screen?

Yes — and we recommend it. Installing to your home screen also unlocks push notifications, which deliver more reliably than SMS.

On iPhone: Open gummyclock.com in Safari. Tap the Share button (the square with the upward arrow), scroll down, and tap "Add to Home Screen."

Once installed, GummyClock appears like any other app on your home screen and launches full-screen without browser chrome. Open the app from your home-screen icon, scroll to the Peak Alert section, and tap Enable inside the Add to Home Screen card. After you allow notifications, GummyClock delivers a native push at your predicted peak — same satisfying ping as any other app, no carrier dependency, no phone number required.

Is GummyClock medical advice?

No. GummyClock provides estimates based on pharmacokinetic research and the inputs you provide. It is not medical advice, clinical guidance, or a substitute for a licensed healthcare provider.

If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are taking prescription medication, or have any health concerns about cannabis consumption, talk to a physician before using edibles.

And critically: do not use GummyClock results to decide whether you're safe to drive. Threshold indicators in the tool are reference points based on published research, not a legal certification of fitness to operate a vehicle. See our Terms of Use for more.

How accurate are the predictions?

The honest answer: GummyClock gives you a well-grounded window, not a stopwatch.

The pharmacokinetic model is calibrated to published research and accounts for the variables that matter most — body composition, dose, age, and metabolism. For most people on most occasions, peak times come within roughly 30–45 minutes of the prediction.

Individual variation can shift the curve, sometimes significantly. Tolerance, an empty or full stomach, product potency variance, hydration, sleep, stress, and individual metabolic differences all affect how an edible hits. Treat the predicted peak as the center of a range, plan around it with some buffer, and you'll be more prepared than almost anyone else who consumes edibles.
